What time of year should I consider going?

Any! However, to get the most value for your money, I recommend going when school is in session.

Should we stay on or off property?

At Universal, the properties can have better deals that the surrounding hotels so we almost always recommend staying on property.

What should I know about Universal?

There are 4 main parks at Universal:

• Universal Studios

  • Think more classic universal movie references - The Mummy, MIB, The Simpsons, and has great food options as well.

• Islands of Adventure

  • This park hosts quite a few thrill rides and is great for thrill seekers.

• Volcano Bay

  • This is Universal's water park and has both relaxing bays and high speed slides, catering to all.

• EPIC Universe

  • Universal's newest park including areas for How to Train Your Dragon, and Super Mario World.

Please note that Harry Potter World now as sections at 3 of the 4 parks, and to see it all, you will have to visit multiple parks.

• Families with kids (and kids-at heart)

• Planners

• Fans of Disney movies/characters

• Longer stays

What time of year should I consider going?

Fall and Winter are great opportunities to get to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Should we stay on or off property?

We have tried both, and both can be completely feasible and relaxing depending on your goals for the trip.

What should I know about Disney?

There are 4 main parks at Disney:

• Magic Kingdom

  • This is the nostalgic Disney park with all the classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Cinderella.

• Animal Kingdom

  • This park contains Pandora, from Avatar as well as a zoo! This park is great for animal lovers, and explorers.

• Hollywood Studios

  • Home to Star Wars, this park has many thrill rides to entertain the teens.

• EPCOT

  • The Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow hosts sections representing countries from all around the world. Great for foodies!
